Here is a scarf made out of silk tie fabric which I had started in 2010 and finished recently. I added lace, beads and embroidery.

Hayden's Bib

My friend Corinne was having a baby and I just managed to finished this bib in boutis the day before he was born (25/03/2011)

Seascape wrap

2010 has been a lazy year for me in term of spinning and dying. The presence of moths in this area has deterred me. But I did manage to knit this Seascape wrap from mohair I had spun and dyed in 2007.

The pattern is "Seascape" by Knitty

My patchwork group came up with some great Christmas ideas and here are some of my creations:

Christmassy Elves

Pouches for Christmas chocolates
Here is my "Dream Box" I finished before Christmas from one of the patchwork magasines.
The hardest was to choose the correct combination of fabrics.

Mohair

I bought about 500g of kid mohair from last september's shearing at a local farm. I could not wait to prepare it and here are some of the photos:

I used turquoise dye from Easy Peasy

Bouvier Dog Fur

I was given some Bouvier dog fur to spin.

The fur was made of two different fibres, the soft undercoat (on the left) and the overcoat (on the right). Separating the two fibres proved too lenghty, so I decided to spin the fur as it was.

The fur was quite slippery, so I used the inchworm technique to spin it. Plying has relaxed the fibre and the result is not as prickly as I first thought but still too harsh for next to skin wear.

I have about 200 metres for 140g, WPI 13.
